My family gets all these here at TINT

Jeff and I chose TINT for a few reasons.

As I was growing up, my mother was a non practicing Jew, my father a non-practicing Catholic.

Together, they had me, and I grew up with little or no religion.  Sure we had X-mas trees, or a menorah, but nothing consistent.  If it was a Jewish holiday, sometimes my mom would keep me home, but we would not celebrate the holiday, and we did not belong to a temple.  Other times, I’d be sent to school.  When peers would ask, “are you Jewish?” I didn’t know what to say, again, lack of consistency.  So, due to my absence of religion in my younger years, I felt it was very important to have any children I had be raised with a concept of God, and religion. 

I met and fell in, with Jeff Dutcher, a non-practicing, non believing Catholic.  It took us years to decide if we were going to practice any religion in our marriage, and we checked out temples, and churches.  It’s like buying a couch, you want to make sure the whole family fits, and is comfortable. 

Jeff converted to Judaism, and we are raising our son Jewish.  We chose TINT because it is a smaller temple, but very friendly.  While other temples claim they are friendly, I felt like a grain of sand on a beach.  I just blended in, and no one noticed.  At TINT, we felt like celebrities the first day we were there.  Members introduced themselves, and I knew in my heart, that we found home.  Bradley was accepted by the other kids, and after Friday night service, the kids run and play.  It is a comfortable setting, and people can be themselves. 

After a long week at work, no one wants to drag their families to temple, especially in the summer.  We’d rather be eating grilled cheese burgers, and hanging out by the pool.  But coming to THIS temple, it’s like getting together with your bestest friends.  We laugh, carry on, tell jokes, and enjoy each others company.  My husband knows that we are usually the last ones to leave because I’m too busy kibbutzing with people.

People are people, and we all want 4 things, regardless of race, religion, or any other social stigma.
