Shabbat Shirah - Sabbath of Song
Featuring Debbie Friedman Melodies
Friday, January 14, 2011 we gathered for more than one simcha, more than one joyous occasion.
In the book of Exodus, the children of Israel sang joyfully to their Redeemer as they escaped Pharoah's chariots. In commemoration, we celebrated Shabbat Shirah with Debbie Friedman melodies. This evening's songfest was made more poignant due to Ms. Friedman's recent passing.
We also held our annual Second Grade Naming. The rabbi explained the meaning of each student’s Hebrew name.
The Eisenberg family sponsored a very special oneg that evening, in celebration of Rabbi Fred Eisenberg’s upcoming 80th birthday.
